To achieve the impossible. To go where no man has been before. No matter, how dangerous and hostile it may be. It must be encoded deep in our genes. From the first circumnavigation of the globe to the great depths of the oceans and off to the stars. Mankind has travelled since its beginnings. It is about time then, to start thinking about the “how” instead of the "where" that we travel.

That must have been, what the initiators of the X-PRIZE Foundation thought. After the spectacular introduction of space tourism and the 1 Million USD award for the first privately built space ship, the X PRIZE now takes on an earthly matter.

The Automotive X PRIZE. The task: To build an automobile that will go as far as possible with as little ressources as possible by 2009. Maximum efficiency at a reasonable price. And not to forget: a volume production should be feasible. That’s where we at Loremo felt called upon, challenged actually.
