| Is the Loremo safe in a crash with a heavy vehicle? |
|
Compared with other compact vehicles the Loremo has a higher safety standard than any of them, due to the principle of the linear cell structure. The passenger cell will not be deformed substantially in frontal crashes (full frontal or offset). This is why the survival space is protected better than in other vehicles. Furthermore, the roll over protection is higher than in comparable vehicles due to the firm head rests that serve as roll-over cage. The crumple zone is at least 50% longer than in comparable compact vehicles. Therefore, the Loremo has enough safety reserves to protect its passengers in collisions with heavier vehicles.
In the event of a rear end crash a small segment of the structure is indented. Adult passengers travelling in the rear would probably suffer foot injuries in such a crash scenario, however they do not fit into the standard Loremo. In conventional compact cars, there is very little room between the rear impact zone and the back seats. Children are actually a lot safer in the rear seats of a Loremo, as their weaker spines are much better supported by the seats. |
